Sneak Peek: iTest 4.1 and iCentral 1.0 Releases
The holidays are underway, and all of us at Fanfare are extremely excited about the “holiday cheer” that we’ll be delivering in the coming weeks with our newest version of iTest, as well as a new companion product, Fanfare iCentral.
Since our release of iTest 4.0 in June, we have spent a lot of time listening to the people who matter most: our customers using iTest in the field. This has lead to many improvements in the core feature set of iTest as well as several new modules and features that will broaden the scope of test automation.
New Modules & Features in iTest 4.1:
- Web Services Module – You can now test & automate your enterprise applications (EMS, OSS/BSS etc.) directly through the programming API using SOAP or RESTful web services
- VNC Module – Drive OS related controls (Windows, Mac, or Linux) as part of your overall system test (e.g. Triple Play Testing, VOIP Testing, VPN Connection tests, etc.)
- VMware vSphere Module – Automate virtual machines using iTest: Create, retrieve, update, delete, start, stop etc. your VMs as part of testing & automating your virtualized environments
- Test Report Diff Feature – Compare test results side-by-side to quickly identify differences
- Plus many updates to existing features & modules including: Java Swing, Virtual Testbed (VTB), iTestRT, reporting enhancements and more...
New Fanfare iCentral Product:
- Companion product to iTest that transforms your test results into a decision making tool for test leaders and managers
- Version 1.0 includes a web-based dashboard which aggregates and organizes test data to show test coverage, test group progress, and release readiness
- Contact your Fanfare sales representative to get a free trial license of Fanfare iCentral to see how it can maximize your existing iTest investment
How to learn more and get access:
iTest 4.1 GA is scheduled for release in December, but you can learn more now by watching 4.1 feature videos located in our Learning Center. Once 4.1 is released, check it out and let us know what you think by posting comments on the Fanfare Community forums.
We’re confident that iTest 4.1 will allow you and your team to go into 2011 with new tools to automate more tests, which can help you further reduce costs while better preparing you for new challenges on the horizon.
Happy Holidays!
